Fast And Furious Spinoff Eyeing Iron Man 3 Director

Dwayne Johnson is clearly a man who hates having free time and vacations, as is evidenced by his adding yet another movie to his upcoming slate–in this instance the announced Fast & Furious spinoff he will star in with Jason Statham. That said, while the movie won't debut in theaters until the summer of 2019, there's plenty to get excited about now.
Variety reports that while no meetings have taken place, the list of directors being considered to helm the movie includes none other than Shane Black. A veteran of action movies in his own right, Black is the writer and director behind titles like Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys and the upcoming The Predator, a sequel to 2010's Predators due in 2018. Even more impressive, he's also written The Monster Squad, Lethal Weapon, Lethal Weapon 2 and The Hunt for Red October, among a long list of other movies.
Given his film pedigree, the director would likely be a natural fit in the Fast & Furious universe, should he be chosen. The..

New Destiny 2 PvP Map Announced, See It Here Right Now

A new Destiny 2 PvP map is being added tomorrow, Bungie has announced. The new map “Distant Shore” will be added tomorrow, October 10, timed with the start of Destiny 2's first Iron Banner, though it apparently won't be playable in all playlists until a week later.
Distant Shores will start to show up for everyone when Iron Banner ends, Bungie said. Iron Banner runs October 10-17, so players can expect to start seeing Distant Shore in the general multiplayer hopper on or around October 17, it seems.
Many are pointing out that Distant Shores looks like the Destiny 1 map Shores of Time. That was a pretty good map, so if this is indeed some kind of remake, we won't complain. It is not uncommon for games–from Bungie and other developers–to update popular maps from older games for their sequels. Just last week, Activision announced that Call of Duty: WWII is adding a classic map from the first Call of Duty, updated with new graphics and more.
In other Destiny 2 news, Bung..

Watch Star Wars Battlefront 2’s AT-RT Wreak Havoc In The Beta

Star Wars Battlefront II introduces a wide variety of new classes, weapons, and vehicles, but one of the most dominant that we've seen so far is the AT-RT. The All-Terrain Recon Transport might not be as menacing or iconic as something like the AT-AT, but at least in the beta, it's a versatile, powerful vehicle that you'll want to take for a ride.
In the video above, you can see us putting the AT-RT through its paces and pulling off a lengthy killstreak. Whether it's a tank, Darth Maul, or every enemy in Naboo's throne room standing in its path, we found it to be a devastating vehicle–to the point where it might be in line for a balance adjustment in the full game.
Your opportunity to try out the AT-RT–and the rest of the game–ahead of release was scheduled to already come to a close. However, EA has now extended the Battlefront II beta, providing two more days with the upcoming sequel.
Battlefront II launches in full on November 17 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC..

DC’s Doomsday Clock Info Finally Revealed, Along With Interior Art

DC has been exceptionally tight-lipped about its upcoming November story Doomsday Clock, which introduces the iconic characters of Watchmen into the main DC Universe for the first time. During a panel for the comic at New York Comic-Con, writer Geoff Johns lifted the veil and explained why the publisher has been secretive about the 12-issue miniseries.
Johns spoke with Lev Grossman–an expert on all things Watchmen and the author of The Magicians series–as to just why readers are being kept in the dark about the upcoming book. “We want you to experience it by reading it,” explained Johns.
That comment is not without its merit. Many times, comic book publishers will unveil too much information about their upcoming series, even spoiling major moments–like deaths and rebirths–and full pages on the day of or even before the book's release. Many big events completely lose their allure and mystique through spoilers and story details released to the public, and interest in the series-..

New PS4 Games Out This Week Include Shadow Of War, Evil Within 2, And More

The PlayStation 4 gets a bunch of new games this week, including anticipated sequels like Middle-earth: Shadow of War and The Evil Within 2. We've rounded up this week's notable new releases, pulling from a schedule posted on the PlayStation Blog.
Shadow of War, which launches on October 10, is the sequel to 2014's Shadow of Mordor. Developed by Monolith, we found the sequel to be bigger and more ambitious than the first title, though we had our issues with it as well. You can read our full Shadow of War review here.
As for The Evil Within 2, it's from the same studio as the first one, Tango Gameworks in Japan. The team is led by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. The Evil Within 2 puts you back into the shoes of detective Sebastian Castellanos who is looking for his lost daughter in a world filled with horrors.
Other notable new releases this week include the physical version of Friday the 13th: The Game, which of course launches on Friday the 13th. New PlayStati..

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Director Says You Should Maybe Skip The New Trailer

A new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is coming on Monday, October 9. A teaser trailer released today shows Rey wielding a lightsaber, which is interesting. Now, director Rian Johnson has spoken up to say that, while he enjoys the trailer, you may want to avoid it if you're hoping see The Last Jedi with fresh eyes come December. [Update: Johnson has reiterated that he only said you should skip the trailer if “you want to come in totally 100% clean.”]
That already basically goes without saying, as a trailer for anything–even a video game about a big, mean goose–will spoil something for you. But movie trailers these days can sometimes give too much away. And Johnson's specific language–“absolutely avoid it”–seems to suggest that this new trailer could have some kind of big reveal. We don't know for sure, but we'll find out soon, as the trailer it set to drop during Monday Night Football tomorrow evening on Disney's sports channel ESPN.
